My steak was terrible and far too overpriced, and many others in our group felt the same way. There's been a lot of talk in the community about the poor quality of the food and the high prices.
Last week, I reached out to Restaurant.com after noticing that Yarborough's was still listed. They informed me that I should be able to use my certificate and that they had no record of Yarborough's requesting to be removed from the site at any point. It turns out that they are still part of the site. Last weekend, a group of us returned to the restaurant, and I mentioned my gift certificate to the waitress. To my surprise, she immediately told me that they were not allowed to accept them, saying she had been informed that it was removed. When I suggested she check, she seemed taken aback and said she thought it had been removed at the beginning of the pandemic. It seems this restaurant has been misleading customers for over two years. I asked to speak with the management again but was told there was no one available. I requested the owner's name and number, and I was given a regular restaurant card with the name Cheryl Walser hastily written on the back. I have since called and left a message, but so far, I haven't received a callback. Not surprising, really. They should be ashamed of their lack of service and honesty.
As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the unpleasant smell of old carpet. This restaurant has definitely seen better days. The food was merely average; the twice-baked potatoes were essentially just mashed potatoes served in a bowl with cheese on top. The steak was lacking in flavor as well. I had higher expectations given the 4+ rating, but I found Lexington Tap House to be a better option. Overall, I was quite disappointed and won't be coming back.
I recently went for a small group event, 4 people. The food was okay.. I didn't have any problems with the cheeseburger nor fries. The service was good, but the waitress did forget to bring out my 2nd side. I decided to not ask for that to be fixed so that we could just get on with the meal. The bottle of ketchup on the table was quite sour, so that did affect the taste of the fries by a lot. The chocolate peanut butter pie was pretty good. The most positive aspect of my visit was the pricing, as I found all of the food to be reasonably priced. Also, they have Cheerwine on fountain, even though it tasted a bit odd.
Love this restaurant!! Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access!
