Tierra Mar Liberia

If you are in the vicinity of Marisquería Tierra Mar and it's only a slight detour take it!! The service and quality of food was amazing. We get there and our 4+year old is not quite fully awake the owner sees this and proceeds to get a reclined chair and puts a table cloth over it so she can rest comfortably. She didn't stay long but that was a very kind gesture. Next he personally went through the menu and described each item. He obviously took pride in his work and had perfected his recipes. Everything was fresh from the herbs to the fish that he personally picked up from the fisherman. Michelle initially wanted a Sangria but he recommended the Tinto Verano as an alternative it did not disappoint. As for me, he convinced me to try this Strawberry, mint, cinnamon concoction yeah I wasn't sure either but it hit the spot. My tastebuds are still trying to understand what happened. Everything was great 3 types of ceviche, the fresh grilled snapper, the fried sea food and the Peruvian seafood rice were he used homemade crab stock as the base. At the end of it all he took me behind the bar and taught me to make the Tinto Verano. I am only saddened that we could not try more. There is an Isla Ceviche with my name on it. It's a coconut infused ceviche. Thank you TripAdvisor Marisquería Tierra Mar is THE best food I've had here in Costa Rica and possibly the best service I've ever had. Diego you are a King!

Good food, excellent service and the owner was hands on....we highly recommend and a must try!

Best seafood restaurant in Costa Rica. Diego (the owner) recommended what to order and when the food came, he explained the ingredients and described how a local would eat each item. The food was excellent and the personalized service topped it off. If you visit Liberia, I would recommend that you visit this restaurant if you want authentic Costa Rican food.

One of the best restaurants ever! Food was fantastic, service was impeccable and the prices were very reasonable. We will be returning the next time we are in town. It is definitely a keeper. Also the décor was very relaxing and in a class all its own. Wonderful! Wonderful!
