I stopped by this restaurant for breakfast while in the area and I was not disappointed. The breakfast was huge for the price, much bigger than a typical breakfast at other places, and it tasted amazing. I will definitely be returning soon. Thank you! We enjoyed a pleasant coffee and brownie at this restaurant. My friend opted for a custard tart. Both dishes were tasty, but we found them difficult to eat due to the hard pastry and dense brownie. It would have been helpful to have a knife. Overall, the food had a nice taste. Our meal was for lunch and cost between £10-£20 per person. The service was rated a 5, while the atmosphere was a 4.
Fantastic food, drink, and the staff are very pleasant well worth the money. I had a BLT bagel with mayo, salad and chips. You get a generous helping of bacon which is lovely and crispy also the chips were really warm. Highly recommend visiting this establishment. Two of us called in on a busy Tuesday lunchtime in late August: internally, the place was packed to the rafters, but we managed to find outside seating at the back of the premises. I was a little surprised that it was necessary for one of us to have to return inside to place our orders but, as my dining companion had been here before, they 'knew the drill ' and duly obliged. We didn 't have to wait long before two delicious Milk Shakes appeared. Verdict: 'Maccies, eat your heart out! ' this was possibly the best one I 'd ever tasted since those faraway days of childhood at the seaside. I should have spent more time savoring it and less time time rushing it down, as it was almost a meal in itself, quite filling and totally moreish. No disappointment either when my 'Prawn Mains ' appeared quickly afterwards: plenty of the former in a delicate, well balanced sauce. Bread was delicious and the salad clearly fresh and well prepared with a subtle, but not over invasive dressing. Coleslaw was refreshingly tasty and a pleasant change from the normal 'Vinegar drenched ' afterthoughts served in many places. Value for money I couldn 't fault: portion sizes were surprisingly generous and more akin to those of £12 15 per head equivalents in boutique or chain establishments nearby. This admirably explains the packed house we encountered varied and delicious menu options at excellent prices and timely, attentive service from pleasant and friendly staff. Overall, I give a 4 Star Rating: Full Marks for value, customer service at table, and an exemplary culinary experience. Sadly, the same establishment missed out on an otherwise 5 Star Rating for an outside patio area looking as though it had seen better days and could use a little more love and tidying up: and the need for diners to return through the thronging masses to the tills inside to place an order. Those minor points apart an excellent venue and something of a hidden jewel somewhere I would recommend to others and visit again next time I am in Lichfield and in need of refreshments.
