My starter of grilled or roasted vegetables, while very tasty, consisted of 95% aubergines and 5% tomatoes, and the rognons de veau were a disappointment, served drowned in a sort of thickened onion gravy.
Interesting address for shopping lovers within walking distance to all kind of shops, le Printemps, Euralille. Small and modern interior. Very friendly welcome. Fast service. Daily menu very good and not expensive. House wine is ok. Important choice of other wines by the glass. Limited choice of food. Toilets are on the second floor: first staircase acceptable, second staircase rather difficult, nothing for disabled people.
Went to have a lunch in Le Meating. Both me and my girlfriend had the dish of the day, which was a steak and fries. Medium steaks were cooked to perfection and the fries were extremely tasty. Service was good, but not outstanding per se. I would highly recommend for lunch and I am planning to try the dinner at some point as well.
Have been coming here for the last 5 years (till it shut then re opened)But since re opening things are defo not as good!!Portions were much bigger and have to say tastier...Went on a sat nite and we pre booked to find place deserted so we took our seats.Waiteress asked what we wanted to order then walked off without taking our drinks orders(remember restaurant was empty)Steak was almost raw and chicken was way to dry(prob on rotisserie far to long)Sadly dont think we will be visiting again which is a shame as its lovely looking restaurant with decent prices...Hopefully management will sort out ASAP.......
Within easy walking distance of central Lille, a clean and well presented place with outdoor seating and upstairs level. Bar in center of the ground floor. Rotisserie window visible from some parts of the dining area. Flowers and understated decor.Reassuringly small but good selection with a catering to various meats and tastes. I opted for the Welsh rarebit (cheese with toast) which was divine. Steak tartare mains - soft and almost mousse-like in texture but a little bland and needed my red wine to spice it up a bit so I advise a bit of salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Chips were hot and fresh cooked. Salad had a satisfying crunch of freshness. Obviously good quality food and ingredients. Boyfriend had the rotisserie chicken which was soft and moist - and very recommended as well.Smiles and welcoming air as we entered; "Pour deux?" Oui. Thereafter served discreetly and promptly by our waiter - who spoke more than passable English, for which we were grateful. Smiles and thanks on our way out.We dined early, just after 8pm, so we just missed the main crowd dinner crunch and therefore the pressure to table turn. We were left alone as necessary and we had a great time just chatting, listening to the music, and savoring our food. The value was outstanding and came to €55 which is only €8 more than what we spent for our earlier brunch in a standard Le Pain Quotidien cafe - outstanding value for French dining out.Toilet facilities acceptable though in need a good scrub and an update. Main ground floor is lovely. All in all a recommended dining experience in the warmer months for window or outside seating and good food at great value.
