Cafe Bodega Santa Isabel - Lima

We walked out of the street when the café looked very friendly and we sat down. The coffee was really good and we had one of the pastries from the counter. It was nice to sit down and watch people for a while, and both the coffee and pastries were really good. Friendly service!

I have read about Cafe Bodega Santa Isabel (the right name) on the Daily Secret website. It is a simple and real local café that is visited by nearby office workers and perhaps those who still live in the Centro Historico. We thought there was coffee, chocolate and sandwiches before we could see nearby. The entrance and the business are very small, but don't worry. After you order your food, go up to the 2nd floor and find yourself a table. The friendly waitress brings up your food. Or if you know exactly what you want, it can always take your order. House specialities are Chanchamayo coffee, Huaraz butter, Chiquián and Moquegua cheese and Cajamarca smoked ham. This small Bodega Café is located in the heart of the historic centre of Lima. Nothing beautiful, but great products. The owner is a friendly man and a proud ambassador of all the great products Peru has to offer. In this place you can have a large cup of coffee from the famous Chanchamayo area. They don't come here the chic espresso or cappuccino, that's just a cup of coffee, but with a big 'saubor'. The breads they serve are fresh and you can choose from a variety of meat. The cheeses he sells are also delicious. On the way you can buy freshly ground coffee with beautiful chocolates or the KingKong cookies.
