Swisshotel's Café is a large informal space offering breakfast buffet and a la carte entrees for lunch as well. Service is irregular and in the morning, leaving an unguarded yet unfinished plate to re visit the buffet could lead to disaster missing when you return! Otherwise, service is pleasant and the food ore than adequate in quality and quantity. It may be a bit on the pricey side.
It's a rather small place around plaza des armas and to European standards a really standard coffee place. They serve oké coffee but nothing out of the ordinary. They seduce you to write a good review on trip advisor in exchange for an extra cookie.... Well there you have all the raving reviews... ;
So the cafe was very nice, we were staying at the Swissotel (which the cafe is a part of) and decided to go on Sunday, since everything seemed to be closed in the nearby area. Interestingly enough, we couldn't find the restaurant within the lobby, so we asked the front desk and one of ladies working said she'd take us there. We walked out of the hotel, and then turned the corner and halfway down the length of the building there was the entrance to the cafe. Food-wise, everything was fine, it's mainly sandwiches and salads, but the best part in my opinion were the desserts. There's a large display case full of delicious pastries and desserts that we bought so many of. The funniest part was us trying to pronounce and point at the items we wanted and the workers just looking at us utterly confused (we probably should have practiced our spanish before going to Peru lol)
Bueno como siempre. Variadas opciones y un servicio muy atento. En general, y cual fuere la razón, el hotel y su personal deben guardar cuidado y buena comunicación con lo ofrecido por The Gourmet Club.
