Having visited this restaurant last year and found it very good, I was beyond disappointed on my return. The staff are fantastic and VERY attentive,However the plague of wasps made it necessary for us to move tables away from the windows , one of the gambles with eating Al Fresco....The restaurants grill is supposed to be its specialty but the only thing special was the price... the cuts of meat are VERY POOR we tried the biggest steak on offer at 1.2kg and a whopping €49 ...Sadly most of the weight was fat and gristle , chips arrived cold so we're sent back the best dish out of the 5 in our group was a salad...VERY LIMITED MENU for vegetarians and our friend could on have Salad or pasta the chips were out as they are fried in duck fat.Even my smoked salmon starter was terrible and was difficult to cut and even more difficult to chew. Very lumpy with bones. The puddings were however very good and I can recommend the creamy rice pudding .This is an upmarket restaurant and one I had been promoting and looking forward to this visit. Our bill was well over €50 per plate and certainly didn't live up to even half of that. The menu is extensive and other choices are available but they pride themselves on their grill as its a centre piece as you enter the restaurant.Perhaps a review of the meat supplier is in order??
Typical food from the area of Limoges and the South-West of France very well made with local products. Excellent meat, tasty side-dishes, good wine by the glass and delicious desserts in a countryside setting. It's a big restaurant with many tables, but the service is lightning fast, efficient and friendly. Very highly recommended whether for business lunch / dinner or for private / family meals.
On a two-week trip to Europe, this was my kids' favorite meal. It was relaxed, yet service was terrific -- the owners clearly have a vision for this place. We ate outside on the covered patio (inside was closed), but it was very pleasant. Four of us ate grilled steaks -- all were yummy. One ordered the cassoulet, and I was a little jealous, as it was fantastic. We shared sides family-style (creamed spinach was my favorite). They have roaming chickens and a donkey named Steve, I believe. If you want another stuffy French meal, don't go here. If you want a relaxed atmosphere and tasty food, don't miss this place.
This has to be the best lunch we have ever had. The place was buzzing - full of people, the food was quite delicious - we only ordered steak and chips but it was delicious - and to see it being cooked in front of us was fab. The dog was welcomed no problem. The whole meal was a fab experience. Also it was literally only a couple of minutes from the motorway.
