They cleverly substitute meat with vegetables to add bulk to the dish, but this is not mentioned on the menu. The chow mein lacks beansprouts and sauce, is dry, and has more vegetables than anything else. The Mongolian lamb dish is full of bones, which should also be stated on the menu. The curry contained half an onion and was filled with carrots, onions, and celery. The salt and chili chips are not like those sold at other takeaways, as they are plain chips with tiny slices of chili and lack the proper seasoning of salt and pepper, onions, peppers, and spring onions. The chow mein must have the sauce added to improve its flavor, as it currently consists of plain noodles with no taste.
I previously gave Leon Takeaway in Newport a five-star rating, but I'm disappointed to see the quality has gone downhill. Over the past 2.5 years, my family has enjoyed the variety of vegan options here, but recently the quality has been inconsistent. Yesterday's experience will be our last. We ordered 4 meals and 4 portions of rice, but when we got home, one of the fried rice dishes was missing. When we called to mention it, the man who took our order insisted we had made a mistake and that we had not paid for the missing dish. He suggested we purchase another portion of rice, even though we had already paid for it. We didn't want to pay twice for one dish or inconvenience ourselves by going out for another, especially while the rest of our food was getting cold. This poor customer service is unfortunately not a one-off occurrence. We will be trying out The Golden Dragon, which has received good recommendations.
We are fortunate to have such a fantastic vegetarian Chinese restaurant in Lincoln.
Quite simply the best vegan Chinese food I have ever had. Massive vegan selection we visit almost weekly its so good! A must try for Lincolnshire vegans.
Sub standard Chinese food what ended up in the bin! Never ever again … Lincoln takeaways especially Chinese are of the poorest quality, travelled the world and this is 1/10 at best. Anyway, not happy to throw £30 pound in the bin , but we live and learn.
