The food was served cold, there was only one vegetable option (cauliflower, which I don't like), and I was only given two tiny slices of pork and some roast potatoes. I was still hungry after finishing my meal, as were my friends. We ended up going to another place for dessert because the food at this restaurant was so subpar. I will not be returning, as the experience was overall unpleasant due to the disappointing food.
I went to the restaurant during a busy lunchtime and had to wait 30 minutes for a table. The staff seemed disorganized, running around without a clear system in place. Customers were asked to wait at the door until called, but this rule was not enforced. When we finally sat down, the waitress took our order and said she would be back in a few minutes, but we waited 15 minutes before she returned. We were told there would be a 40-minute wait for hot meals, so we settled for scones. After ordering, we were asked to pay, but our food still hadn't arrived. Eventually, we were told there were no fruit scones and had to settle for plain ones. After a further 10-minute wait, the scones arrived. Unfortunately, mine was overcooked and tough. Overall, the meal took 75 minutes from start to finish.
A very large spacious area. Food options very good. Staff very good. Large tables available for groups.
During our stay at the campus, we had breakfast at this restaurant and found the staff to be very accommodating and helpful. The food was of excellent quality.
We stayed at Longdale's House B&B on the university campus and breakfast is served here. It's a buffet style and you can have pretty much as much as you want, Good selection of items bacon, sausage, beans, hash browns, mushrooms, black pudding, fried egg and white/brown toast. All food was hot and served by friendly staff. No complaints!
