Feedback gevenAfter sitting down at my table and admiring the charming decor, I received a text from my friend responding to my question about trying a new place, saying, "I had a bad experience there." My immediate thought was, "Oh boy." However, I wanted to give the restaurant a chance, so we decided to stay and ordered clam cakes, chowder, and the Lodge burger. Our food arrived shortly after we placed our order, and let me tell you... it looked and smelled incredible! The taste definitely lived up to the presentation! Everything was cooked to perfection, and the flavors were spot on. The staff was fantastic as well. Our waitress (I regret not catching her name) was absolutely wonderful! She brought a smile to my face every time she came to our table! I don't often write reviews, but I felt this place truly deserved it! I know my friend will be eager to return soon as well!
Our waitress initially appeared a bit overwhelmed as she darted between tables before finally taking our drink order. We didn't receive a drink menu, and there were no beverage options listed on the menu we had, so we ended up ordering sodas. After about ten minutes, she returned with our drinks, apologizing for the delay before taking our food order. Having worked in the restaurant industry for over 15 years, I do pay close attention to service quality when dining out. It seemed like many surrounding customers were regulars, as they received their drink and food orders within two minutes of being seated. Conversations between the staff and these customers confirmed their familiarity with each other, which made our experience feel a bit off. That said, the food itself was fantastic. If we lived nearby, I would definitely consider getting takeout.
I enjoyed a delicious fried clam and sirloin burger with fantastic sweet potato fries. However, the toppings on the burger were a letdown. While the grilled onions were excellent, the inclusion of canned mushrooms was a disappointment. A burger as beautiful as this one deserved sautéed mushrooms instead, as they add so much more flavor—it’s a shame to settle for canned ones!

We were in the area and decided to stop by for the first time, and it will definitely be our last! It was terrible! The only positive aspect was the free popcorn, but even that wasn't great...
