Maybe our expectations are too high...plus... I love good Chinese cuisine, but it is impartial. unfortunately we will not revive this strange little diner soon. even our friends seemed disappointed at this outing. the lemon chicken was not recognizable and came without lemon sauce. the egg foo young was also unusual (my favorite dish) and the serious inedible. the rice was hard as a rock, and other dishes were hard to describe. we ordered a few dishes, but the servings were small. would not take an extra home meal from this place. they stay from peterborough from now on. apologize to our friends when they read this, but something had to be said! to each of his own I guess.
This Chinese Food restaurant had been recommended to us by a friend for a long time, but we finally made it here for our anniversary dinner. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was very good, and the waiter was, may I say, adorable. Don't go...here if you are looking for a quick meal, because the elderly folk that work here are on their own schedule, but we could appreciate that because they were very pleasant and we were not in a hurry. This restaurant is a little like walking into a diner with an Asian twist. It reminded me of the Chinese Food places I went to as a teenager in Bowmanville and Oshawa. We will be back. The portions were so large that we hadn't a second meal the next day at home with the leftovers.
This little restaurant on Hwy just north of Queen Street is the oldest Chinese Restaurant inTown as far as I am award. Doug and his wife do a tremendous job with good food and reasonable pricing. Not very fancy, but great stop for sure.
Great place, but it burned last week on the floor! excellent eating and service, take-out was first class!
I've been to derry a few times and really enjoyed it and the chicken balls were always my favorite, as they have more huh of the teig. after a long trip we picked up from toronto and after a bit light. for dinner. the chicken balls were so dragging that I could not even cut them and had a weak edsiggeruch that my man first noticed. the rest was okay, but not according to their usual standards. not sure what the problem was, but I was very disappointed by the overall experience
