Kasbah Cafe Lipari

We had seen this restaurant recommended in the Rough Guide and happened upon it by accident on a rainy evening. As the terrace was covered we decided to give it a go even though it was very quiet. This was the best evening meal we had in Lipari by some distance. The menu was small by other local restaurant standards which was a good sign of freshness and we were not disappointed. The aubergine with burrata starter was so good, creamy and tasty. For mains we had the tuna and the octopus with a side of chips, and both were amazing. Texture, flavour perfect. Even the bread was the best we have had in Sicily. We finished off with a cannoli to share and a shot each and the bill, along with four glasses of wine was around €100. Highly recommended.

The room is beautiful and creatively furnished, however our experience was not at all positive. from the beginning, despite the reservation and our arrival in perfect time they made us wait outside more than half an hour and judging by the number of people waiting for us together seems to be a common problem. as if it wasn't enough, attached to the entrance door was the fan of the kitchen that emanated strong smells and that made us the wait even more pleasant (in ironic sense). once housed in the restaurant, nobody considered us for almost an hour! No water, no menu, nothing. a group of 5 people completely ignored for almost 60 minutes. Meanwhile, the same treatment was also reserved for other customers (including a person I know) who did not have our patience and went stunned to wait (I saw 2 tables from 4 people get up and leave). pizzas were not bad while the wine was not very good, and that's why we left everything. in short, leaving the quality of pizzas that were good and poor wine, it may be that our bad experience is due to the particularly busy evening or to an unfortunate case, however reading previous reviews, many other customers have complained similar shortcomings in the service that in my opinion for such a large and ambitious restaurant should be the absolute priority.

Romantic and quiet restaurant. music in the background makes dinner pleasant. fish dishes simply perfect with special goits and sometimes spicy notes. during the meal, the homemade bread is served with a leave of more than 14 hours. absolutely recommended!

Nice restaurant and a special but well maintained style. the inner garden is really beautiful and gives a romantic and relaxing atmosphere. you eat very well, dishes with refined and innovative combinations. trained and professional staff, recommended!

Very nice restaurant in the center of lipari, which you already intrigue at the entrance! romantic and well-kept, excellent dishes and fine wines! great pizza and desserts too! friendly and kind staff! absolutely recommended
