Very nice little restaurant, the special of the day was fresh sea bass, a plate for 2 people, super delicious, nice service, and quick.
2 of us ate here tonight. Waiter began by putting butter, a croquet and bread on our table. I told him we only wanted the bread which he was ok with. I mentioned that I heard from reviews that he charged for all these items. He explained that the local Portuguese are offended if you don't offer them. We moved on. We ordered the Cantaplana, which is a fish stew chocked full of different seafood.... salmon, cod, prawns, shrimp, clams and potatoes. Very delicious, hearty, and plenty for 2. We had the stew, bread, a carafe of wine and a water. The bill came to $45.90. Excellent value. We were the only Americans in the restaurant. Service was fine.
We had a good experience there. No problems with prices or the invoice as other reviewers wrote. You get some appetizers that are charged if you take them, leave them untouched and they will be removed. Our waiter explained this beforehand and we found the price at the end quite reasonable. The main courses, especially the seafood with rice, served in a pan was delicious and we also enjoyed the dessert. Service was efficient and friendly, so for us it's a place we would e definitely visit again!
Tourist restaurant in the city centre. Good food, reasonable prices and efficient service with a smile.
