The Bakehouse - Litchfield

Hands down one of the best bakeries in CT (and perhaps in the Tri-State area). Such a hidden gem hidden under a restaurant right in the centre of Litchfield. We just stumbled on them because they sample cookies in one of the shops on the green (so smart! We started with cookies, cakes and bread. All right. This weekend I needed a birthday cake. Thank God they had a few on Saturday morning. I took a 6-inch villa. The butter cream was excellent. The cake so moist. Not too sweet. Four perfect layers. Lightly lined 6 people with larger discs (excellent value). Can't wait to order a custom cake next. All our guests loved dessert and we agreed!

Sweet Bakery very clean everything looks and smells delicious. I love it that it was built in old County Jail, it's pretty cool that it's part of the story. If you're in the area, I would definitely recommend stopping by.

My Covid Wedding was great. We got our cake from The BAKEHOUSE. Not only was it absolutely gorgeous, but it was delicious!

What a great new addition to the area. The bread is amazing and the desserts are fantastic. My personal faves are the olive loaf and walnut brownies. I will definitely be returning. I love seeing what new treats they add to the menu. P.s. I loved seeing what they did with the old jailhouse. The place looks and smells amazing. It's worth the trip just to see how they transformed it.

Where do I start? A truly unique and labor of love style location. As soon as you walk in you’re greeted by the incredible aroma of fresh roasted coffee beans. I got an Americano (it was perfect)
