Feedback gevenI love this place! This is a great BBQ spot, they share a patio with a Locavore Beerworks and I have never left dissatisfied! But.... Alright Brad, you wanted a review, I'm gunna leave you an honest one. Leave it public or don't, I don't care. This is a solid 3:5. Your rub is decent. It gets soggy and grainy. You need turbinado. Bigger grain size! The meat is quality but gets overshadowed by your shortcomings. First off, replace any app that isn't scratch made. I can taste your freezer on the okra, mac bites, moz stick.. Etc. Denver is a fresh scratch food scene and you will fail of you don't match it. Where's your passion for food? I got a brisket sandwich, and dispite you, the owner, telling me is was cut to order (you told me this in person yesterday) , it still came shredded. I was also served my order in parts. It nice when all your food arives at the same time. Lastly, your sauce (if it is homemade) it needs a rework. It has the flavor and consistency of something that is store bought and I absolutely hate it. Your current sauce degrades the quality of your food! I will keep coming here, and keep updating my review because your quality and prices set in a place I can agree with. I wish you were best in town.
I have eaten Brad's Pit BBQ since around the first time he started coming to Roxborough. This is honestly my favorite bbq food. Today was my first time going to the restaurant location. The food was just as good as always. The grilled chicken is the best grilled chicken I've eaten. The pork is great, the sauces are fantastic, the fries were shoe string today but still good. The seasoning that goes on all the food is what really makes a positive impact. The mac and cheese bites are always great. It's just great bbq and everytime I've interacted with Brad he has been very kind.
As for the pulled pork, it wasn't actually pulled; it was chopped instead. Proper pulled pork should be shredded and generously covered in sauce. The spicy sauce I received tasted like it was just KC Masterpiece, and Texas BBQ sauce doesn’t have the consistency of honey. On a positive note, the fries and okra were delicious. Brad, if you're reading this, I highly recommend taking a trip to Texas and visiting every BBQ joint you can, or watching Aaron Franklin's MasterClass!
The brisket was quite disappointing; it was shredded yet still tough and lacking in flavor. I would recommend skipping the $1 upcharge and opting for a different meat instead. It was served with a cold, untoasted slice of white bread. To make matters worse, they closed early and didn’t check our order, resulting in me needing to knock on the door to retrieve my missing item. I’ll give it 3 stars because the fried zucchini was tasty.
We’d definitely enjoy the beans again, but that’s about the only positive thing to say. We ordered the brisket meal, pulled pork sandwich, and rib plate, but the meat was extremely dry—almost like chewing on tough jerky. The sides were decent, but they forgot half our order, which meant they had to return to our table multiple times. We also had to go back to the counter ourselves to retrieve what was missing. We're glad we didn't opt for takeout! The worst part came when we tried to eat the leftovers and discovered a piece of metal shavings in the meat. They might have just been having an off night, but after this experience, we’re unlikely to return when there are other options available.
