The Brown Lantern - Live Oak

Best in town! Without a doubt, the blackened fish filets are incredible! The hamburgers are world-class! I'm sticking with what I know.

I had a wonderful lunch at this charming restaurant located on the main street in Live Oak. This self-service eatery features a cozy enclosed patio and a nice indoor bar area...

The food was tasty and the beer was cold, but one of the younger waitresses with long hair was rude to my 5-year-old son.

We had steaks, wings, and Hamburg steak at our gathering, and everything was fantastic. The wings were some of the best I've ever had. The service was excellent, and the staff was very friendly. Overall, I highly recommend this place!

Brown Lantern consistently serves delicious food; however, it is quite pricey. They also don’t allow half orders for most dishes, which means you often end up with more mushrooms than you can eat, and they don't taste great reheated. I think it would be beneficial to offer half portions on the menu. Furthermore, it would be nice if adults could order from the children’s menu when they’re not looking for a full-sized meal—it's a bit absurd that this isn’t an option, especially since many places permit it. The prices are steep for the area as well. On the bright side, the service is generally good, but don't expect to be in and out quickly if you're short on time!
