Nobody's even close.
Marble and Moxie is in the in house restaurant for the Westminster Hotel located in Livingston. As such, our expectations were that it would serve reasonably good but not necessarily great food. Boy, we were wrong! The food was exceptional. We arrived on time for what must have been the first dinners of the day but that did not seem to affect the ability of the staff to serve us. The busboy, Kayshawn, was extremely efficient and was not phased by our request to place a drink order with him. He relayed that information to our waitress, Mo, who efficiently filled the drink and clarified our dinner selections. This was a Friday night and the special that night was a Tomahawk Ribeye for two. We ordered that and the presentation and preparation were top notch, to say the least. Some of our friends arrived as we were finishing our entree and they agreed that the beef was perfectly prepared so much so that they ordered the same item at their family dinner. I live approximately 45 miles from this restaurant but I would make the 90 mile round trip, on a Friday, to have that meal again. The entree will not appear to be inexpensive at $48.00 but when you consider that it does more than adequately feed two people, it may actually be a bargain.
Loved it so much that we booked it again this Friday for a table of 6. Wish you had valet parking. We always go on New Years Eve and had to park way in the back in the pouring rain. Not very considerate for hotel and restaurant guests as well.
My daughters steak had to be returned 5 times before getting it to the desired prepared cooking. The service was awful as well. A disappointing meal.
I didn’t enjoy the food. The steak was over seasoned but it was OK. The baked potato was overcooked and not very good. The wedge salad was watery and the worst I’ve ever tasted in a steakhouse
