The story behind this place is that during the cold days of February at the national Pust Festival season, the vegan chain Loving Hut started offering vegan donuts, causing a craze among vegans all over Slovenia. People from different regions like Koper, Kranj, Maribor, and Novo Mesto would travel to Ljubljana to buy vegan treats for their friends and family. The menu now includes vegan burek, cookies, flancati, potica, cakes, and even the famous Bled cream cake. Additionally, they offer the national dessert from the Prekmurska region called Gibanica, which has become a popular choice among customers. Overall, this place has become a go-to spot for delicious vegan treats in Slovenia.
The bakery is located slightly off-center, but definitely worth a visit! The vegan options are extensive and the owner is happy to provide detailed explanations on how the baked goods are made. Everything we tried over the past three days (we visited daily) was incredibly delicious! Five stars!
They offer a diverse selection of vegan desserts such as biscuits, doughnuts, and cakes, as well as savory options like burek and pizza. Some of the vegan items are clearly labeled, but not all of them. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is incredibly friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant.
I tried their vegan donuts and they were great. The tofu “cheese” burek was very good too. They also have a vegan Kremsnita and many other options including cakes. Very affordable. The bakery is about a 20-25 minute walk from the center (Preseren square), but easily accessible with bus line 6. A nice family owned bakery, I think they have the biggest amount of vegan options in the whole country. Delicious, affordable. Apple pie, doughnuts, pizza, burek (spunach, “cheese” , cream-cake (the typical kremšnita cake , walnut rolls, you name it, they have it.
