The restaurant doesn't provide an on line menu, so we were a little uncertain what would be available to us, being pescatarians, but decided to give it a go. We were pleasantly surprised to find that there were a number of meat free dishes and a few that could be easily modified too. The staff were all very pleasant and attentive; the prices were reasonable; the quality was good. We went to L'Arco Antico three nights on the run, out of the four that we stayed locally. The 1/2 mile walk (800m) to and from the restaurant was also quite pleasant, but take a torch!
The restaurant is located in the beautiful Valley DÍtria area of San Marco between Locorotondo and Fasano. Sitting outside on a terrace is always pleasant during a summer night if only the owners would have a feel for that correct lightning gives such more atmosphere- than the cold and strong lights used! Food was average and the service below par and we had to call for the waiters more than once- including for paying the bill.
This is a nice, little neighborhood trattoria serving traditional puglian cuisine in a nicely restored complex of trulli. Family operated, the service is friendly and the food honest and reliable. The only downside is that in summer it can be crazy busy and that slows everything down. But if you're not in a hurry, have another glass of the house wine and go with the flow.
It is a good idea to reserve a table the place gets quite busy even on weekdays. The menu is varied and the prices quite reasonable. Friendly staff.
Another great visit. I was here a few days ago, when the central heating system had failed, but was made comfortable and a portable heater placed to make it better. Tonight I needed a good hearty meal, and Pasquale did me well with a typical local mixed grill and the sauteed dish of potatoes, onions, mushrooms and pancetta, accompanied with a lovely beer, then very acceptable house red wine, rounded off with little shortbread biscuits and Limoncello. A little quiet here tonight, but this is definitely out of season. Very pleased this is the nearest restaurant to my almost completed new house here in Valle d'Itria... more reviews from me, my friends, my family and our future guests will follow I am sure...
