The shrimp and grits were incredible—totally worth the two-hour drive. The owner even came out to serve me and checked in later, bringing bread so I could savor every bite! You definitely need to visit this place!
I've been eager to try MayMoes ever since I found out they were featured on Triple D. The food transported me back to my visit to New Orleans a few years ago. We sampled some southern classics, and everything was fantastic! The sauce on the shrimp and grits was absolutely delicious. The red beans and rice had a wonderful flavor. The beignets were hot and fresh, generously dusted with powdered sugar. I felt the jambalaya could have used a bit more flavor or spice, but it was still quite tasty. If you're ever in Cache Valley, be sure to stop by!
The food here was excellent. The coleslaw is the best I’ve had in a long time. The Cajun spice was a bit too strong for my taste, but I’m not great with spicy food. I tried the BBQ chicken po’ boy, and it was delicious! My niece enjoyed her shrimp pasta, although she found the mushrooms too salty. My nephew had chicken strips and green beans, and he loved it. He says they have the best blue ranch and fry sauce he’s ever had. My sister ordered the pastrami burger with jambalaya, but it was way too spicy for her.
What can I say? Well for my husband and I who have not found Cajun food anywhere these days, even though he is an otr truck driver and we 're in every state, this place is heaven on earth for any true southern traditionalist!!! We were greeted by Jameswho by far knows Cajun food and knows how to be the best, funniest and most gracious southern host we have seen. This place hasit all! Frogs legs to melt in your mouth, divine fresh catfish, red beans and rice with the bay leaf intact which most cooksforget) and shrimp and yellow) grits that will send your mouth and mind into a Cajun coma ! The atmosphere is not country but Cajun as it should be. Order your food, sit down anywhere and with almost no wait the food arrives as fresh as we 've seenanywhere. Triple D Food Channel) show has been here and Guy signed the wall, there 's photos galore to look at, above the fillit yourself sweet tea and soft drinks. You 'll further feel at home by the serve yourself silverware, hot sauce and the bestthing of all a roll of paper towels on each table! This is the best little bayou restaurant most certainly in Utah if not allthe states. Try it out, and even though we 're told the hamburgers are awesome....go Cajun, you won 't regret it!!
So, I so enjoyed Maymoe's last week I had to come back. This week I had the Baton Rouge Cheese steak and Red Beans and Rice. I am learning that everything they serve is awesome. The meat on the sandwich was so tender and flavorful and there was a hiddensauce just waiting to surprise my taste buds. The Red Beans and Rice tasted as good, if not better than, anything I've had inNawlin's or Louisiana! I am so glad I found this culinary treasure! Looking forward to my visit next week when I get to returnto Utah
