Post IKEA shopping & craving Japanese food. Realized there was a new Japanese takeaway nearby so here i am @ Don-ya. The small take away shop front displayed menu items on large signboards (mainly don rice bowls) with a few pre-made sushi rolls in the fridge. Very hungry I was, so decided to ordered salmon avocado roll & pork katsu don. First up, salmon avocado roll & oh boy the sushi roll is big! Loaded with two large strips of raw salmon, large slices of avocado with a hint of Japanese mayo. Biting into it was a meaty and satisfying experience (I'm glad to be alive today!). The flavor was well balance with just the right amount of seasoning to keep it from boring. The rice was a touch on the soft side and would suggest to vinegar a bit more. For $4 this is bang for your buck at its best (so i through....keep reading to see what happened after the meal...). 3.5/5 5 min later came the pork katsu don which consists a large piece of deep fried crumbed pork cutlet on steamed rice, topped with egg & chopped onions mixed with sweet soy sauce. Overall appearance was not positive at start with broken up pieces of egg (rather than all attached together traditionally) & slightly burnt colour on the pork cutlet. Biting into the meat was again disappointing with the pork being chewy and overcooked. The sweet soy sauce was flavored well however lacked in quantity. So much so majority of the rice was flavorless and overly chewy. 2/5 The business is Japanese owned and operated. Service was casual and friendly but lacks attention to detail (food came without chop sticks or napkins). 3/5 On the drive back home, i felt butterflies in my stomach & no i was not in love! A quick dash to the servo toilet confirmed my horrors! The next 40min was spent sweating and "body cleansing"...it was coming out like lava! Hint: I don't recommend their katsu don, maybe try their gyudon or udon. Their sushi rolls are massive but i recommend to stay away from the raw varieties. Using food poisoning as body cleanse or weight loss is not healthy!

I'm a bit fussy about my yiros: the quality of the meat (the oilier, the better) and how much garlic sauce it contains (the more, the better!).
This Persian food shop draws my attention long times ago by its hot food mostly being meat displayed in the cabinet, looking at the steaming hot fish,
