I came here with a friend for an afternoon catch up. The food tasted okay, but I prefer the Yum Cha cuisine restaurant at Carindale a lot more. Also the service here was quite slow despite that there were only a couple other tables filled at that time.
Dumplings were perfect. More expensive than some of the other Yum Cha's, but definitely the best quality. Highly recommend the pork buns, and any of the dumplings with duck or prawn in them.
Have come here a few times for Yum Cha cravings when in Garden City. The Yum Cha here is quite average though and you can find more authentic, delicious and more reasonably priced Yum Cha if you go to Sunnybank. This restaurant is a busy place especially on the weekends, and it can be a very noisy environment because there are lots of families dining in with young kids. I prefer to sit outside when I can. The food is overpriced in my opinion. I always feel a bit sick after eating here because the food is so greasy even the tea won't wash that sick feeling away????
We went here for a late lunch and they certainly do a roaring business. The decor is great and affords people a little more privacy than your usual yum cha places. We ordered an assortment of prawn and scallop dumplings, snake beans with pork mince and fried soft shell crab. The best dishes were the dumplings, but they are pricey for what they are, especially compared to yum cha places in Sunnybank. The beans were quite oily, and both the crab and the beans were too salty. We also ordered a coconut pudding/jelly for dessert. This was delicious but a little firmer than what you get in other places which I didn't mind. it's not terrible food, but for the prices you'd certainly want better.
