Sake Sushi Korean Bbq - Lompoc

I would rate it three stars. I ordered a Tempura California Roll for my daughter, and when we opened the box, it was disappointing! The tempura coating was all over the place. I was really surprised because the presentation is usually spot on.

This review is from a while ago, but I've never returned since. Initially, when the restaurant first opened, I thought it was good, though not outstanding. I enjoyed it enough to go back with my sister and our family. We ordered $120 worth of takeout, and when we got home, we were shocked at how poorly prepared everything was. The beef was tough and chewy, almost like it had been boiled, and it definitely didn’t look or taste fresh. The rice was overcooked and mushy. The meals resembled frozen food, and out of the five dishes we ordered, only the Pho soup was any good. It’s been over a year, and I haven't felt compelled to return.

This place is not what it was when it first opened. Giving one stars because the girl who waited on us was so nice. Unfortunately a cockroach was in my salad, they tried to gaslight me into thinking it was “something else” like a large pepper it was not, there was antennae on the creature and it had wings) and when I addressed what could be done it was shrugged off and quickly whisked away from my table before I could take a picture. They offered me a ten percent discount on my next visit and implied I planted it there. I will never go there again, and would never recommend it to anyone. You have a better chance at Albertsons.

I highly recommend our family favorites: the Sexy Girl Roll, Mexican Roll, and Spicy Ramen with chicken. Every time we visit, the food is fresh and delicious. The staff is friendly, and the prices are reasonable. Food rating: 5/5.

Everything was fantastic! Our main server, Enrique, was excellent, and there was another server, whom I believe may have been a manager, who was also wonderful. It was a delightful experience, from the food to the service. We will definitely return! Food: 5/5
