However, we discovered the day before our reservation that the hotel was closed for refurbishment and would not reopen until 2019. Despite our efforts, we were unable to find another suitable afternoon tea venue near Covent Garden at such short notice, so we had to change our plans entirely. It was disappointing to see the hotel closed when we passed by, and although I notified Open Table of the situation the day before, it was still a letdown to have our Christmas day out spoiled. We did receive a response from Open Table on the day of our reservation with an apology and additional points awarded, but it did not fully compensate for the inconvenience.
Our reservation was not found, so I had to show them my email confirmation to be seated. Despite booking a festive menu with mulled wine, we were not provided with any wine and were charged a higher price. The sandwiches were not worth the money we spent. I would not recommend having afternoon tea at this establishment.
I had a great time dining at the Harlequin Restaurant. The atmosphere was clean, bright, and pleasant. The English lunch menu was excellent, and the staff was courteous and friendly. It was a great value for the price. I would definitely recommend checking it out.
Very quiet on a Saturday night but still took a long time to get served, they got our order wrong so they took it away. When it came back, it had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp so was dry and cold. Pretty disappointing.
Off the beaten track this hotel offered value for an afternoon tea . The gluten free cakes were yummy. All staff were discreet and attentive. Ideally situated for our trip to The Royal Opera House after .
