The curry udon was outstanding - hearty and beautifully presented. I couldn't get enough of the onigiri - simple yet incredibly tasty! The restaurant has a charming street vibe with small chairs and tables. The staff was friendly, efficient, and quick. I can't wait to return!
I may not remember the names of the dishes, but the flavors really impressed me! I enjoyed the authentic street food experience in the bustling Brixton Market. Everything was top-notch and the service was fantastic. A unique and charming independent restaurant with great character. Highly recommended!
London has a distinct lack of good Japanese street food. okan serves fluffy osaka style okonomiyaki. as okonomi means whatever they want, it is a highly personalized dish. I prefer a chewing pancake, but I still recommend it if they prefer another texture.
Best dinner I’ve had in ages!! The plum wine and lime cocktail was one of the best parts. The fried rice ball with seaweed was insanely delicious. Gyoza was apparently great too (didn’t get to try it). Rice bowl was lovely, would’ve liked a bit more pickle in though. Okonomiyaki (wheat free) was pretty good.
Love this place! I got the special okonomoyaki which is the most popular AND for a good reason. Lovely friendly staff. Great food great company. I went here with a level 5 guide and a level 6 guide who share the same sentiment.
