I thought I was booking the Embankment venue only to find out at the door that it is now in the middle of nowhere, in a horrible, cheap and tacky venue and has nothing to do with the previous Proud Cabaret. In one word, it is a joke! The show is very basic and resembles more of a porn show than a Cabaret. The worst thing is, I wanted to take my 18 yo niece to a place where she could see a proper London vibe, with drag queens and quality performance (after having visited Proud Embankment in the past). I was to say the least, embarassed as we had to watch half naken women sticking out their bottoms and being whipped; Something felt dodgy the moment we went down the dirty and old stairs and the initial worries unfortunately did turn into a nightmare and this place completely ruined our Saturday night...
I 'd like to point out that the host and performers were amazing, and this review is solely directed at management, not them. My friends and I had a disappointing experience with Proud Cabaret City. We planned to attend the Exposé show on June 15th, as a birthday gift for my friend 's 40th. However, an hour before the doors opened, we received an email saying the show was cancelled. We came from out of London and had spent a good amount of money on trains to get there. After contacting Proud Cabaret City, Ola responded and kindly rescheduled our booking. They assured us of the best seats and offered additional free drinks to compensate for the inconvenience caused by the cancellation. Last Friday (26th , we attended the rescheduled show. While we had good seats, we were disappointed to find out we were booked for the Secret Burlesque show instead of Exposé, which was the show we wanted to attend. Although the performers were great, it wasn 't the experience we were looking forward to, knowing how different Exposé is (as I 've attended Exposé before, which was a very good experience, unlike this one! . During the final act, our server brought us the drinks bill without accounting for the promised free drinks. When I raised this, he was dismissive and instead offered us another round of drinks to enjoy with the final act (which was over by the time he left our table , distracting us from the show. I missed part of the act trying to sort out the misunderstanding. Afterward, we approached staff about the issue, but our drinks were still being prepared while most guests had left and the show was fully over. Despite leaving my email with the staff and contacting them myself, I haven 't received any communication back. We are 400 pounds out for this, which is a lot of money for such a disappointing experience. Will be reporting them to Trading Standards.
I made a booking online for a show, for me and a friend. This was the booking number (DMN-16793209384) and Order number #18391 which was confirmed for two people. I made this booking on the 18/08/2022, I was charged a total of £123.00, which I am happy to share the receipt and booking confirmation with the viewers, audience and company itself as proof of this purchase. This show was not fulfilled, and the company (a few days before the show) offered me to go to another show which I have clearly told them that I could not attend as I do not live in London. I was in London for a short holiday which is why I could not accept another date and time as a compensation. It was my right to receive a refund due to the circumstances. It was not my fault that the company canceled their original show due to their own personal circumstances. Until now I have not received a refund, despite multiple emails which I have sent to them. They canceled the show and therefore should refund all the customers who booked on that show. Instead, they have kept my money and tried to force me to go to another show which I simply cannot do and a show I did not purchase in the first place. They even offered me a show that I had no interest in. Please do not trust this company, you will purchase the tickets, they will cancel the show and you WILL NOT GET A REFUND. It is a scam and I have been robbed. Be careful. I have lost money and I would like to alert future customers not to make the mistake that me and my friend have made. We both lost money and were scammed.
Today in the Metro there was an article about the arrival of a new Playboy Bunnie club in west London. There is a hoo har about half naked girls serving fellas drinks, food and manning gambling tables from the feminists in this city. Apparently it 's an outrage and a disgrace coming into the city. Well, these people have obviously not been to Proud Cabaret where your waitress forgot to dress and has come out in her undies! It 's not often I come out with social commentary such as this in a review but I feel I have to. This is entertainment. A woman taking of her clothes in an environment such as this is purely for fun, yes it can be sexy (gents, you can pop these images in your wank bank) but I do not see it as derogatory. It 's liberating. I laughed so hard I almost spilt my £10 drink over my £55 meal. This might have been that I was twisting my head so hard around to see the show though. The seats could be in better places. I feel that everyone 's issue with this is one of two things, the price and the entertainment. This is not a show as sorts, it 's a bit of fluff to watch while enjoying overprices consumables. It 's like they have found a group of friends who are really quite talented with their hobbies and have invited them down to show what they can do. It 's not bad, it 's not terrible, it 's just hit and miss as to whether or not that guys will not be able to hold the pose, will fall on his neck and be broke in two for the rest of his life. Watching is morbid curiosity, as it is when watching Britain 's Got Talent. The second problem is the price. It 's not cheap and you feel like they are trying to bleed the money out of you. It also results in a certain crowd coming down: hen do 's, city boys and old people trying to be cool for their birthdays. Saying all of this, it is a great night. It just might only be something I do once...
The experience was amazing, but I do feel like it was ruined by the sense of humour of the guy that was doing the presenting/singing. He managed to make c*m jokes. ugly jokes, fat jokes, gay, sexist and obnoxious jokes all in one evening. Shame because his voice is incredible. He also read a guests ' private email address out loud, an joked about sending her hate mail and d*ck pics. The performers were incredible, they totally owned the stage and they deserved classier introductions than 'she 's got beautiful eyes, and by that I mean tits '. At the end of the show he even said (pointing to one of the waiting staff girls): she 's pregnant by the way...she didn 't want me saying it but she also didn 't want me to say she was fat so...you know and pointed at her belly. It was also really hard getting the attention of the waitresses, which were very nice but the place is clearly understaffed. We had to ask 3 time for water, one of our starters didn 't arrive with the others despite being exactly the same one for all of us. Honestly, the atmosphere is incredible and they nailed the 20s mood perfectly. Then the guys appears on stage and shatters the illusion. He 's the only reason I 'll likely won 't be coming back. I wish I could leave a 5 star review for the venue and the performers, and a 1 star for the guy alone.
