Yesterday, jon and I moved from the Barnsbury side to the Peters side. Although the two areas are just a 10-minute walk away, the upper street could also be the big wall, because in the 4 1/2 years we have lived in islington, we ver
I visited the duke recently, and I must say I had the most delicious food I had in a long time, the staff is really friendly and they allow dogs in the bar area. we had smooth hound fish in thai broth, which was amazing, and really good pork belly. the wine list has a large selection and the organic beer awarded, goes back next week.
Overpriced and terrible service. when my group arrived from four dinners, we were quite ignored when we walked around the restaurant that was looking for a table. once sat the waiter took our order and then within about fifteen minutes the food arrived. the chicken was overboiled and the blase and squeak base was really just soggy hollow. also the lamb stew was not noticeable. Organic foods should not be so terrible and at almost £20 for one more expensive. After we finished eating, the waiter could not reappear if he was taken a break or fired? Finally, our tellers were removed from a new waiter who had never returned. we realized that we were in the service siberia and tried our...read more
Good of it's time no doubt, now bland. Walk past here often so we decided to eat here spontaneously Monday evening. Dissapointing. Atmosphere is good, a gently bustling pub or peaceful adjoined restaurant offer good alternatives, Pitfield lager was delicious my organic chenin blanc was very good but the food was just decent dissapointing for the price. My gunard was perfectly cooked but the severe blandness of the puy lentils/kale overwhelmed it. The sticky toffee pudding was average. Advise sticking to a casual starter drink in the pub rather then sit-down meal.
