Feedback gevenI went there with a friend and we tried some of the permanent menu vegan dishes: the gyoza (pumps), the baos and the vegatsu. the dumplings were simply my favorite: full taste with a beautiful texture. the bases were good, but I thought they were expensive for what you get. the vegatsu was okay. I've tasted vegan Katsu-Curry in japan before, and that was nothing but it. Why did they lay salat in this court? there is too much rice and the curry is too liquid. the sincean katsu was good, but overall it was a disappointing court. in any case, there is something space for improvements, but I love that they offer a lot of vegan options.
I generally check beforehand to see what vegan options are on test because it varies depending on the test menu. I really like that as a test kitchen for new products they are really interested in your feedback. I'm always pleased when a dish I've enjoyed here makes it on to the main Wagamama menu. It's a really central location, and service is generally efficient.
The only good about this place is that stuff was very nice.
We have been to Wagamamas Noodle Lab on Dean St multiple times. Noodle Lab is where they create new dishes including a vegan menu and get customer feedback before they roll it out across Wagamamas Nationwide. Plus side it is good value I had the vegatsu, ongiri, bao buns with mushrooms and the other with panko aubergine and asian slaw, edamame for starters chocolate tart for desert which was a complete let down. the bao buns were the best thing on the few occasions I do visit Wags the rice always comes out cold which they rectify quickly.
Delicious food great service! The only problem with this place is that the menu items change regularly so if you love something it may not be there when you go back. Highlights this visit were a collaborative dish with Cook Daily which was an awesome curry noodle dish with bits of coconut bacon the beetroot onigiri and the steamed buns with mushrooms aubergine. I could eat those buns every day for the rest of my life be happy. They had three vegan ice creams as well but I wasn't too keen on the weird flavour combos. I had hazelnut and rose and although the texture was great, the taste was not. Yorica is a 3 minute walk away so I'd suggest going there for your dessert fix. The service was friendly, professional and very knowledgeable about dietary requirements. I thoroughly recommend this place.
