Archie's Seafood Restaurants - London

We have enjoyed the Sunday brunch. Good food but always the same. Pretty good price. Always busy when we go.

My wife and I ordered from the lunch menu. The shrimp [scampi style], fries,& garlic bread was very good. My wife had the clam chowder and a toasted western sandwich. Both were great. Polite, attentive service added to the complete satisfaction of our lunch.

Never fails to surprise me. The food is good, they do change things up so you have a variety of different things to try. Something even if you do not like deep fried fish.

This was our second visit, Sunday March 26th 2017. We didn't care for the service the first time (our waitress) but thought we would try again as the food was decent and everyone can have an off day. This time was worse then the first time, same waitress EQUALS same bad service. 2 of us had the buffet and one ordered off the menu. The waitress never cleared one plate and didn't refill drinks til we were pretty much done and I had to get the gentleman at the buffet to fill my spouses coffee, the waitress messed up my spouses order, he CLEARLY asked for 2 piece fish and chips and she brought 1, no apology, just did you want a second piece? She told us the buffet had chicken on it? I couldn't find it? It was dead when we went at about 3:15 so it is not like she was rushed off her feet. This was the second Visit and will definitely be the last.

When I crave fish and chips I go to Archie's. I usually order Halibut and fries, but this time ordered the Pollock and fries. There were three adults and a 2 yr old. We ordered the sampler appetizer. It was priced at $ 9.50. Don't order it, not worth the money. It included 5 onion rings, 2 chicken fingers and 2 mozzarella sticks. I expected more. The fish and chips came and there was more batter than fish. I had 1/2 my plate full of batter that had no fish when they asked if I was finished. Although it came hot and what fish was there was quite tasty, the fries were a little undercooked for my liking. I mentioned my dissatisfaction to the person at the till that I took to be the manager, but he only replied, that's what it comes with, that's how they are told to make that platter. Next time I will stick to the halibut and forget the appetizer - when and if I return.
