High Praise for High Lunch As a resident of OEV, this restaurant has been on my to-do list for a while. I didn’t realize that High Lunch has been around since the 60’s and is a family owned business. Walking into this restaurant is like taking a trip back in time, very authentic diner ambiance, authenticity It also operated 24hrs “back in the day”. Greek diners usually have the highest standard for food so I had expectations. The expectations were met. My son ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger with Fries and I ordered the Cheeseburger with Greek Salad. My son really enjoyed the food and told me he would return, especially if he goes to school next door. I like how they served the burger open face style, veteran move. The Greek Salad was well seasoned and not overly dressed like some Greek salads. This is a cash only business so be prepared to walk to the variety store if you don’t carry cash. Here are some things we liked overall: Food Decor Value Service I wouldn’t say the service was great and at times I felt like they just wanted me to order and get out). That being said it wasn’t bad. Average at best. I would definitely return for a quick, fresh delicious High Lunch in the future and you should too!!
We stopped in here for a quick breakfast/lunch as we're from out of town. All I can say is there are not many places like this left anymore. Such a cute, old school family diner with a lovely older woman working and cooking. Everyone was polite and pleasant, the food was exactly what you want from a small diner like this and the prices were very, very reasonable. If you're reading this and love a good, home style breakfast or the old school family diner feel/food then please give this place/family a shot as there's nothing else like it around anymore. Thank you so much for the lovely food and I really hope we get the chance to come back!
High Lunch is a rare gem in today's restaurant scene. The open kitchen with bar seating and a few tables off to the side give it a vintage feel. It's a one-woman operation, with the lady behind the counter preparing your order right in front of you. If you come for lunch, you might even catch an episode of The Price is Right on TV. I've tried the breakfast, which was excellent, but my go-to dish is the clubhouse sandwich made with real turkey (both dark and white meat) and tasty fries. Be sure to bring cash as they don't accept credit or debit cards, but the prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous.
I recently had the best burger I've had in a long time at this restaurant! It's hard to find places like this nowadays - a classic diner with a cozy and welcoming feel. The food was top-notch and reasonably priced, served quickly and left me feeling very satisfied. Thanks for a fantastic meal, guys!
