This is my go to place for a quick healthy lunch at work. Located in the Covent Garden Market, it is just literally a minute from my work. While there is usually a line during the busy noon hour, it moves quickly. There are usually several staff behind the counter and they move the line along very smoothly. Everybody is friendly and helpful. If you're not sure about a soup, they will give you a little sample to try. Or you can get a mix of two soups or customize your own. Different sizes suit different appetites. They also serve bread or sandwiches plus a couple of salads. Heart healthy, gluten free options are available plus vegan option as well. Great on a cold day but good even in the summer.
Whenever my kids are sick or I just need some soup this is where I go. The large variety of soups from Squash to Jambalaya are all quite good and reasonably priced. Great place to pick up supper on the way home.
Visited the Commissioners Road location. VERY busy from noon to 1pm but clearing out at 1:15. There are only 6 tables and 5 stools at a counter by the window. The set up is very efficient- a section of soup pots, a section of salads and a sandwich counter with all the extra toppings making it easy to see all the choices. This is definitely " fast food" served up in cardboard but the soups are hot and delicious, the sandwiches are made up fresh as you wait, the prices are reasonable and service came with a smile today! The meals are pretty much make up your own combo. Soup sizes- small , medium, large and souper with sandwich or salad in varying sizes and priced accordingly. You can get a salad/sandwich combo for slightly more. I chose a medium broccoli/ cheddar soup with a small egg salad sandwich for $6.60 The server dropped cheddar cheese into the cup and filled it with steaming broccoli soup. It was creamy and light( not the glutinous mix I've come to expect) with lots of tender broccoli and carrot pieces. The sandwich,in a fresh bun, was quite good and you can add all kinds of toppings if you wish. Our other combo was a large butternut chicken tikka masala soup with red curry, coriander, coconut and cream with a small corned beef sandwich on a whole wheat roll for $7.90 It also got a thumbs up! Smoothies and frozen yogurt are also available. Try Piping Kettle for a quick refreshing lunch.
The best Soup restaurant that we have found in London. Offered is a selection of delightful thick hearty soups at very affordable prices. The staff is great and they even offer a free sample to try. Also, a new generous rewards program.has recently been introduced.
