Had a decent menu, but all those items are gone (Po'boys, Blackened Cajun fish, Hot Brown sandwich), replaced with boring choices, poorly prepared (under-cooked chicken, which was microwaved). Even my choice of beer was flat and not cold! Service was decent, poor waitress tried but need proper food.
We stumbled upon this place when we were looking for a sit down place for dinner. A great choice! Service was friendly and efficient and food was delicious. We didn't want anything heavy so my husband had french onion soup and a garden salad that were both very good. I had the beet salad which was very good as well. For dessert, we shared the Vanilla & Walnut Italian Sheet Cake with Coconut Whipped Cream and it was very yummy! The name is a mouthful but you won't be disappointed. The restaurant wasn't too busy which was nice, music was at a good level as we could hear each other and decor was upscale pub which I liked. I wish this place was closer to my home as I'd like to try the other food as the photos look very tempting. I would highly recommend this hotel.
After being sent a birthday coupon, we decided to have dinner at Practical Henry's on a Sunday afternoon. The menu had changed and there were a couple of new items that looked interesting. It was a beautiful day to sit on the patio but when I asked for two separate dishes and was told both times they had run out, it was a near thing whether we would ever return. I did choose an item- instead of lobster and shrimp ricotta, I had shrimp risotto. It was very tasty but the biggest treat came at the end. When presented with our bill, they had comped my meal and taken the coupon discount off one of the other meals. Then the manager came out with a fudge brownie for us to share. It turned what might have been a disaster into a delight.Needless to say they saved our future business and left us with a good feeling.Well done. Well done indeed.
We tried Henry's Pub for the first time. It was a Saturday evening and there were many empty tables. The waitress was prompt to come by to take our drink order, but when I told her this was our first visit and needed to review the drink list, we never saw her again. 20 minutes later, we were remarking about how we'd been forgotten when the floor manager (?) asked if someone had been by. She sent another waitress promptly. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time. The food came out quickly and was delicious, burgers all around. The men got a second drink, but the waitress never returned after that, leaving us to wave someone down for the cheque since it was clear we weren't going to be served again. When we left they were packed. We might return sometime, but it will never be on a Saturday again.
My husband and I were in the city to do some shopping and for an appointment and wanted to try someplace different for dinner afterward. We happen to spot this eatery in a small plaza where we were shopping. Looked like it wasn't overly busy, so in we went. Not a huge place, but felt quiet and relaxed. We were seated quickly and our server was right there to take our drink orders, which came very fast. She was very friendly and engaging. My husband had a question about his entree choice and it was answered satisfactory. Our meals came swiftly as well. He had the poached pear salad and I chose the pulled pork burger. Both were delicious and I have to mention that my burger came hot, which I don't experience a lot if ever. Nice surprise. Pricing is very good as well. A good experience. We will return.
