Cafe Piccolo - Long Beach

I really miss this place! Please reopen! I've been enjoying their delicious food for decades. Does anyone happen to know the recipe for their salad dressing and the chicken Tetrazzini?

This charming little restaurant offered delicious food and an incredible atmosphere. The menu was fantastic, and the service was excellent, making it one of the best dining experiences I've ever had.

The service was exceptional—attentive and friendly. My friend started with a delicious lentil soup, which had a subtle hint of curry flavor. I enjoyed a house salad that was perfectly chilled, fresh, and lightly dressed with a tangy house vinaigrette. For my main course, I chose a special dish that featured a slightly spicy sausage in a vibrant red sauce. The linguine was cooked al dente and generously coated with the sauce, making it delightful. The crusty bread served alongside was fluffy on the inside, perfect for buttering, and we added cheese and pepper until we were satisfied. The atmosphere allows for a casual vibe or a more polished look, depending on how diners wish to present themselves. After spending time at the local aquarium in Long Beach Marina, we returned to the main dining area, feeling comfortable and at ease. It was a memorable meal shared with a special friend. And don’t forget to save room for dessert! We shared a Tiramisu that was incredibly fresh, avoiding an overload of coffee liqueur or whipped cream—just the right balance. It felt like someone’s grandmother was in the kitchen, crafting something special. Overall, I want to express my gratitude to the chef for a truly wonderful meal. It was a relaxing culinary experience, almost like a mini vacation in itself.

Your food is incredible! So simple, but VERY complex. You can taste each and every layer taste and none of them was overseasoned. Perfectly cooked. I had the goat cheese chicken with penne pasta, roasted vegetables, smoked mozzarella and a spicy white wine sauce. Delicious! Service was attentive and friendly. The terrace is covered, so there is a beautiful breeze. And her bread... The ambience is perfect for a date night or a family dinner. We're coming back!

The food here is outstanding! Dishes are made to order by a chef in the kitchen. This place has been here for over 30 years, and the food has been consistently great. You won't be disappointed.
