Common Room Roasters Long Beach Coffee Roasters

I very much enjoyed both the coffee and staff at Common Room Roasters. The customer service was wonderful, I could tell that Grayson (sp? genuinely enjoyed interacting with the guests. I have been a loyal patron for years dating back to when they opened in Newport Beach and it is no surprise to see this place gaining such a loyal following.The coffee was good and I particularly enjoyed the long black. The space is fantastic and lends itself to being able to enjoy your drink. Bravo Ed and team, wonderful job!

Actually should be 3.5 stars but rounded up since the beans are still good. Recently my coffee from Common Room has been disappointing and quite frankly really nasty. The past two times I have gotten their oat milk latte, it has tasted like watered down cold brew that is not creamy or good at all. It is gross. Idk if it's because they are planning on closing this location and moving to Long Beach so they just don't care for now or what. Today I had to get another oat latte because they were out of cold brew which is what I usually get here. Still nasty. My bf's iced coffee was also nasty. Last week I got a latte from Sidecar donuts who uses their beans and it was exponentially better than what I got here. It's pretty sad when another fav coffee shop is no longer a fav. I probably won't be returning to their shop and won't be driving all the way to Long Beach for their coffee.

**Coffee: 9/10** I tried the vanilla latte, and it was quite good! It had a somewhat earthy flavor, which wasn't my favorite, but I didn't mind it. I chose to pay extra for macadamia nut milk, as I had never tried it before, which might have contributed to the unexpected taste. Regardless, I still enjoyed my coffee. **Service: 10/10** The gentleman who served me was extremely polite and patient. He didn’t hesitate to assist me in selecting an item since I was a first-time visitor. My coffee was prepared quickly, so I didn’t have to wait long at all. **Ambiance: 10/10** While there isn’t a lot of seating, it’s nice for a small crowd. Some of the chairs are quite low, which may not be ideal for those with knee problems. However, they do have three tall chairs and outdoor seating that are more accommodating. The place is very clean and charming, and they offer some coffee-related merchandise for sale. The only downside that might deter me from returning is the price. There’s only one size of drinks, and mine cost $6.50, which I found to be on the small side. I don’t want to complain, especially knowing that small businesses often face challenges in pricing. Nonetheless, the quality of the coffee and service makes me consider coming back when I crave a genuine cup of coffee, rather than the overly-sweet options found at other places.
