Today was our first time visiting this restaurant with a large group of friends. We ordered the red enchiladas and chilaquiles with grilled beef, and both dishes were delicious.
Steph's opinion: The restaurant continues to serve consistently good authentic Mexican food after all these years. Although I wasn't initially keen on going, a group of friends convinced me to meet up at this establishment.
I ordered the chicken breast enchiladas with beans and rice, but was disappointed with the quality. The chicken appeared to be ground rather than breast meat, and it was overly salty and dry. The beans were tasty, but the rice was just average. I was surprised by the small portion size considering the price I paid for two enchiladas. Overall, I was not satisfied with my meal and found the experience to be underwhelming. I may consider giving the restaurant another chance for dinner service in the future.
The food at this restaurant is outstanding and the service is very friendly. The food is authentic and the high prices are justified by the quality. Be prepared to wait 30 minutes to an hour as this place is a popular local spot, especially on weekends. One surprising highlight is the delicious rice and beans - if they nail that, you can bet the rest of the menu is great too. And, of course, the homemade tortillas are a must-try.
