The flavors were quite enjoyable. The only drawback was the flimsy plastic cutlery provided, which was too small and bendy for hot dishes. If you're dining in, it would be great to have proper metal utensils instead!
Delicious! Usually, when I'm craving Thai food, I head over to Spice or TukTuk, but since I was closer to Gawgai, I decided to give it a try. I’m so glad I did! The portion size was very generous, and my order was ready in no time after I placed it with the young lady at the register. She was lovely and definitely a reason I'll return, along with the fantastic food!
The food is delicious! The restaurant offers a self-service option, allowing you to take away your own tray and dispose of your trash.
I especially like the Basil Fried Rice with chicken. I also enjoyed the vegetable pad Thai. There are also many other good dishes. It is a very small place, so come before noon if you want to sit for lunch in the week.
We came in on a Thursday evening after dropping the kids off at music and art lessons. The service was quick and the waitress helped with a recommendation (we were trying to decide between two seafood dishes). Appetizers came out quickly. We had curry puffs and duck salad. Both were really good. (Curry puffs are a particular favorite of ours and our local place never has them). We had a curry chicken dish and the seafood special that the waitress recommend both of which were excellent. ... And above all it was relatively inexpensive. Will definitely be coming here again.
