Shi - Long Island City

The ambiance was great and food was amazing. I would highly recommend this place.

Service was good but if you’re a person of color i would watch out . i had reservations pretty early in the evening and the place was basically empty. still, i was sat in the back two tables away from the kitchen and not in a booth. other than that, food was amazing, server was nice, good ambiance, and cute for date night.

Shi was one of our favorite restaurants. Everyone that worked there when it first opened were very welcoming, attentive and polite. Food was well presented, delicious and the service was great. Our last night experience was completely the opposite. A few of the items on the menu were not available and our appetizers were served about 7 minutes apart as well as our entrees. Hoping to go back and find the welcoming and warm atmosphere that characterized Shi.

The sushi was well prepared. The duck dish seemed to be made of a lot of scrap pieced with lots of chewy, inedible pieces. The meat in the Pho soup was also very difficult to eat. It was thin, but very hard and plastic like. One of the young lady employees walked by my seat and I think accidentally kicked my chair on her way to the kitchen. It startled me, but what I found strange was that she didn't say excuse me, but seemed to find it funny. I made the reservation, and didn't remember that we previously visited this restaurant. When we walked in I remembered the place and previous bad experience. I decided to keep an open mind and give it another chance, but we left disappointed.
