The bar is a hub for the village and for a number of Brits living in the area. If you are anywhere in the area of Lorignac it is well worth dropping in for a visit. We were most impressed. On our last evening in Lorignacwe had a meal there that hhad been put together by Danni and Marie as part of an event, the food was superb and our farewell heartfelt!
Le Doublon has had a mixed history many local bars in villages have closed. Dan and Marie, owners over the last few years, have transformed the place! It serves food when you ask (our last visit was Sunday mid afternoon and Marie was overheard negotiating with the owner of the bakery to get fresh bread made especially, since they had more orders than expected). It's very French and very local in one sense, but welcoming like you wouldn't believe and the constant stream of locals from villages for miles around, plus expats of all nations, shows how much this welcome is appreciated. A gem that deserves to be discovered.
Nice little pub/restaurant. English is spoken and the owners are very friendly. The restaurant serves food all day when they are open. Convenient for visitors who are not familiar with the French meal times.
