I had the Bento Box with salmon, spicy tuna reel and the Gyoza. The gyoza [3 pieces] were small and very dry. The salmon and spicy tuna reels were delicious. The Miso soup was Luke warm as the green tea, but the service was very good.
One of my favorite Bay Area sushi places! So many rolls to choose from as well as lunch specials and traditional Japanese classics! I would recommend this to any sushi lover around!
Wow, a surprisingly good quality Japanese restaurant tucked away on a main street. Lovely waitresses, private and intimate setting. Beef teriyaki was tender, dumplings tasted homemade, rice had a nice consistency. Fresh sushi and ample portions. Nice bits of pickled radish sides and succulent orange slice. This feels like an all around reliable and consistently good place that draws loyal customers back.
The second time I ordered, I got the same items but skipped the Boston Roll for more variety. The salmon and salmon nigiri were still very good, but I was disappointed that the Alaskan Mango Roll looked different from the first time. It was missing mango sauce, masago, and mayonnaise, and the mango itself was not as ripe or a different type. The taste was still good, but not what I expected based on my first order. Additionally, the wasabi had a different texture than the first time, it was more dry this time. Overall, I still recommend Mikado to my friends, but I hope they can ensure consistency in their sushi making. I would give 5 stars for the first order and 3 stars for the second order.
