Freddy Smalls Kitchen - Los Angeles

Months of wondering what's going on behind this Melow/Hip/cool exterior are over. My husband and I stopped in a mood on Friday at 9:00. The hostess was quick to inform us that they prefer reservations as they are extremely busy (obvious), but was able to put us immediately. The food was amazing what was great, because the drinks brought FOREVER to arrive. My drink was wrong and the waitress was very apologetic and offered to replace it on the house, but when we finished our meals, I refused. She wrote my husband's drink instead. Excellent service friendly and fast. We're definitely back.

Only came from the food there, food was cooked to perfection, full taste, great beer and whisky selection! People super nice and quickly accommodated us even if we were a big party with 2 children! Would recommend it at any time...

Ambience... pretty cool. It's dark inside. It has this clean and dark underground vibe. They also have terrace seats. I love her Fried Brussels Sprouts with smoked goat cheese, apple wine glaze. Oh, yeah! It is a good and healthy side next to your alcohol. Up there, park in front. Service- 4/5. We were in and out and pretty fast. Our food came to a decent waiting period and our drinks.

I met a friend here to eat and drink, in the early evening. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our drinks, and I really liked the ambience of the place - until they turned on two large TVs that were hidden from the view over the bar. The food was good-- my friend had heard great things about the sprouts, so we ordered them, but both were a little disappointed with them (they were a bit soggier when I like it). However, the smokey roasted gripping potatoes were amazing and I would drive through the city to eat them again! We also enjoyed the steak sandwich and beet smoke salad.

I really like this place. The food is great and they have an awesome drinks menu. If you are like me, then you have to have the buffalo cup! It's such a great bourbon drink, but be careful. After one of those I am done for the night. The only reason I took off star is for the service. The bar service is amazing, but the table service is really bad. If you go with just two people I highly recommend sitting at the bar and not a table if you can.
