Otherwise, the service was ridiculously slow although I don't mind slow service especially when there is music to enjoy.. , the server was not wearing a mask and that made me nervous, and the food was nothing to rave about. They don't have a liquor license yet, but when they do, I'll go back for drinks and music. I want this place to thrive, so let's give them a chance to iron out the kinks.
The food options, quality, taste and portions were excellent! I want to come back to try the plantain waffle and chicken during brunch. The waiters need to have a more proactive approach with the customers. I had to ask for the menus, waited for several minutes to allow them to come ask us for drinks and appetizers, but I had to call him. Same situation with the main dishes and the dessert. One of them seemed really lost in space. We ordered 2 passion fruit juices and these took a really long time to be served. We asked the waiter about the juices, but a lot of time passed until the juices were served. I have been to the restaurant 2 times and both with the similar situation with the waiters. If when paying by default there is an 18% tip to select in the screen, please make sure the service is excellent. I chose the 18% tip because I understand is a new place and probably the tip is distributed among the team, but there are basics that should be covered when it comes to a waiters service.
Absolutely delicious and generous portion sizes. Best offering for Puerto Rican food in LA! Don’t forget to try MasterChefJr. Maria’s flan, it’s superb!
