Sawtelle Tempura House - Los Angeles

This is one of my all-time favorite Japanese takeout spots. Everything I ordered arrived hot and fresh, and not a single item was spilled during delivery—great job to the driver! The food was as delicious as always, offering true authentic Japanese flavors.

I ordered the specialty plate, which included chicken, ground meat, egg, and vegetables. The quality was decent, and the meal was enjoyable, but it didn’t stand out as anything extraordinary.

A beloved fixture in the neighborhood for 70 years! If you find yourself in Sawtelle on a Monday, the Tempura set is a must-try for lunch. Don't forget to check out the other daily specials as well!

Very expensive for a small portion of food. The person at the counter doesn't even ask if I need any utensils. I had to ask for it and did not even include any napkins and condiments for the take

I called in my order ahead of time so it was waiting for me when I arrived. The woman working was very nice and pleasant and was helpful to ensure that my dairy allergy wasn't a problem.The pork katsu curry was DELICIOUS. Possibly the best I've had. The meat was tender and high quality. The curry was homemade, fresh tasting, with pieces of potato and carrot.Will definitely come back.
