A big dish full of macaroni cheese, chicken skewers in a curry sauce with rice and chips, crème caramel and plenty of red wine! All very tasty.
Acceptable but expensive lunch menu. The menu was fixed price (20 EURO), and there were no options for children. At the beginning, it was offered a children menu but we had to pay full price.
We stayed for our night rest at Hostal Monaco. Although modest accomodations, and the extreme heat, temperature went up to 40 deg C high, Jaime's service and care increased their ratngs from 2 to 5. At the restaurants we fully enjoyed every dish. Their chick peas stew was outstanding. If staying at Los Arcos, In a cool day, I would fully recommend Monaco facility.
We were on the Camino and staying at the Monaco Hotel. It was raining so we decided to eat at the hotel. Bad decision. The service was fine, the mixed salad was okay but the chicken curry and fish dishes we had were absolutely disgusting. I don’t think I’ve ever had a meal quite so awful. I didn’t really care that the wine was lousy but I expected at least a passable meal. You really don’t want to have dinner here or breakfast. Just about everything at breakfast was wrapped in cellophane. Not the type of food you need to fuel your body when you have a 28 km walk ahead of you. It’s unfortunate because the hotel is nice and clean and everyone who works there is very friendly and helpful.
