Noisy! the clientele is a mixed bag of construction staff, the week-to-week and random college children who seem to be away from helicopter parents for the first time in their lives and are loose. the competing sound of these groups, the random, drunk whores leave all night in the untimely hours, is over annoying! apparently there is no hotel security or management on the grounds that controls these groups. we had to pay $35.00 per night to have our 10 pounds. dog with us, if it has created a chaos, but the canal construction youngs 2 rooms over of us can stack empty cans on their terrace and müll all where for the 4 days of our stay! our dog is better tons. and yes, the rooms are dated, as others have said. the photos on the website must be for decades. we had a good laugh at the television in the room about this hotel with pristine plots, a spa-like swimming pool and a bar/restaurant in front of location (permanently closed.) this place really must have been something in its blossom, but no longer. I write this review at 2:30 a.m., after having been woken up by the millennials over us for the 3rd time tonight, the still wrought-iron terrace chairs over the balcony and talk as if it were lunch. I could be willing with the religious guests and dated facility if the daily rate was cheap - it is not. never again!
It must be updated urgently. the people at the reception were great. very nice. the housekeeping services are always forgotten in our room. the last morning when we were there, we saw a cockroach that climbed over the room. fortunately, we went in 5 minutes and my man stepped on and killed it. that robbed me!
Old and down. dirty room haare in the bathroom of previous guests. walls are thin so they can all hear around them. the room was cumbersome and stinking, I wouldn't walk barefoot on the nasty carpet. there are noisy people at the pool until 2am. for the money, they do one like and sleep elsewhere.
We stayed here for a weekend night while visiting Santa Cruz. Although it was close to the freeway and there was a party going on in the pool area, it was surprisingly quiet in the room when the patio door was closed. At check-in you see that they are still doing Covid shutdowns the free breakfast is bagged to go and the onsite restaurant is still closed. Our room was a good size with a view of the pool lawn area. The old part was clearly the bathroom. It looked old and was pretty small. The toilet flush was powerful, like an airplane. The shower handle was ridiculously hard to pull and the hot cold were backward. The new parts were all the handy usb plugs, pull out desk in the nightstands, makeup desk, nice mini fridge microwave tucked into the cabinet. The bed was soft enough and didn't shake the other person when moving around. The air conditioner was quieter than the ones in most hotels. Cosmetic efforts have been made to be current, but it is time to remodel that ancient bathroom. The staff was very friendly and recommended a wonderful restaurant. Los Gatos has very many restaurants and stores to visit. If visiting Santa Cruz beach, check the traffic on Hwy 17 first. One day we were stuck for an hour, but the nice day was fine. Glad we stayed in this quiet place instead of what looked to be noisy choices by the beach.
