Take out only. The food was wonderful. Didn't have time for long time dinning. Let me tell you, food was great. We had duck, crapes and crab. Big thanks from B+B at Sunbury Cove Winery
The dinner I bought tickets to was advertised as an Alex Atala dinner. A Michelin 2-star chef. I believed, like other dinners of this caliber I might take a photo with the chef, give him a gift, and possibly have him sign something. I paid $1,000 per person.I was very upset to learn that Chef Alex was in Brazil. He is/was not present at the restaurant for his whole last week at Ritual. It’s like buying Taylor Swift concert tickets and her understudy’s understudy performs. It’s not the same, it’s false advertising. His sous chef was the one who was responsible for our meal.I even asked to switch to a meal he was cooking, and was turned down.
My initial review was too long for this forum. In a nutshell, our visit to Aponiente 's dinner on 1/17 was a great disappointment. We were seated next to a curtain in a room which formerly had walls but now had pretenses of being a sallow-colored and graffitiless cave , through which cold wind blew from the open restaurant door as it welcomed guests. Service was terrible in every respect, and finally Mr. Kinch began to help serve. When we finally were served some dishes, we found them almost universally overly salted and lacking textural interest. We felt insulted after having paid the astronomical price of the dinner with a wine pairing. The sommelier was helpful; she finally had our water glasses refilled, and alerted the kitchen to our plight of waiting for 45 minute for the first course. The wines were good.
Honestly, been coming here for a decade, if you want a meal that will define your culinary journey, come here. Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Every time.
