This restaurant is superb! Located on the riverside of the Mekong River, Bamboo Tree offers a creative cuisine with bold flavors and amazing sauce to complement their fish and meat dishes. The presentation is visually stunning and the food is delicious. The staff is charming, the restaurant design is beautiful, and the ambiance is extremely peaceful. We highly recommend it as our top pick, along with Tamarind which is also close by.
We stumbled upon this restaurant and were immediately impressed. The Lao fusion menu we tried on our first night was so delicious that we came back the next evening to sample more dishes. We were not let down! Our waiter, Amber, was delightful both nights.
We absolutely adored this restaurant! It was our best meal in Laos. We opted for two tasting menus: Lao fusion and a delicious veggie option (made vegan). They started us off with water and banana chips along with a plate of fresh fruits for snacks. The spring rolls in the first course were excellent. The second round consisted of noodles, chicken cooked in curry sauce (for the Lao fusion menu) and a sweet curry with rice for the vegetarian option. For dessert, we enjoyed a sweet coconut soup. The service was quick and the staff understood English perfectly (and knew how to accommodate our vegan preferences). The food was delicious and incredibly filling. The wifi was also reliable.
I took the evening cooking. they meet in the restaurant and then a van takes them off to a beautiful farm (in the time for sunset when they have luck.) they and their group choose six dishes to make from the cookbook they offer them, and then do the prep work and cook the meal with help from the teachers. was a really funny experience and eating tasted great. would definitely recommend for anyone who is curious about a cooking class or laotian food!
