The food at this restaurant was extremely bland and disappointing. Despite the fact that the restaurant had 'Chilli' in its name, they did not even have chilli sauce to accompany our poppadoms. We were charged for 4 poppadoms and three sauces, which included dry salad, mint yogurt, and shop-bought mango chutney, totaling £5.50. The food itself was just weird; the chicken tikka masala was a bright pink-orange color with coconut in it, tasting overly sweet like a dessert. It seemed like it was taken out of a jar and had the consistency of a paste. The lamb bhuna was lacking in flavor, tasting like lightly fried onions with a small amount of meat. Despite asking for the bill multiple times, it took a while to receive it, even though the restaurant was not busy. Overall, the experience was disappointing and the food was subpar.
The restaurant served very bland food and did not have any chilli sauce to accompany the poppadoms. We were charged for four poppadoms and three sauces (dry salad, mint yogurt, and shop-bought mango chutney) totaling £5.50. The chicken tikka masala was bright pink-orange and tasted excessively sweet, almost like a dessert. The lamb bhuna lacked any spicing and was akin to eating lightly fried onions with a bit of meat. Despite requesting the bill multiple times, it took a while to finally receive it even though the restaurant was not busy. Overall, the experience was disappointing with subpar food quality and lackluster service.
Probably one of the best meals in an Indian restaurant. The only criticism would be the ambience and décor. It would work better with the tables not down each side of the restaurant, but dotted around and less bright lights.
Really bland food, didn’t even have chilli sauce to accompany poppadoms the place has ‘Chilli’ in the title, charged us for poppadoms and three ‘sauces’ dry salad, mint yogurt and shop bought mango chutney totalling alone before we knew they didn’t have anything spicy to go with them. Other food was just weird, chicken tikka masala was bright pink orange with coconut in it?! and tasted like a dessert it was so sweet. Seemed like it was taken out of a jar or something, had consistency of a paste but was like eating sweet, thick, pink paint. No spicing in anything, lamb bhuna was just like eating lightly fried onions with a bit of meat, that’s it. Asked for the bill times before finally getting it even though restaurant wasn’t even half full. Was thinking they were taking their time to provide us with some minor treat as I’d mentioned it was a birthday. But no, nothing, they just took their time for no reason. Really bad food
