The pace was perfect, with appetizers and meals coming out just as you became hungry again from the previous course; the ambiance was stellar, striking a nice balance between hip and traditional; the drinks were well balanced and well priced; and the food...every course got better and better. The oysters were a nice size and served as a half dozen with freshly grated horseradish. The broccolini was divine freshly, bright, spicy, and warm. The lamb, Southern burger, rotisserie chicken, and Artic char were all just exceptionally seasoned, portioned, and priced. I can’t recommend it enough. And our waitstaff was great too hats off to Rebecca!
Top notch food, everything was adventurous and delicious. Bar staff ridiculously knowledgeable of spirits, especially bourbon we had an impromptu tasting with Greg that was phenomenal. He knows more about bourbon than anyone I've met (and I'm born and raised here). The mixed cocktails were interesting and delicious. Amazing service, we let the bartenders order our food and they chose wonderfully. One of the best restaurants in Louisville.
This is my go to place for brunch. They recently added chicken and waffles to the menu and I can easily say it's the best in the city. It's so difficult to choose what you're going to eat because it is all so good.
Really great restaurant! Beautiful room, great service, tables are spread far apart. Brussel Sprouts were great. Chicken entree and, burger both perfect. Extensive cocktail list. Service was paced perfectly; not rushed but always attentive.
I was disappointed in the food. I had such high hopes. I had the steak frites. The steak temperature was cooked to perfection (medium rare) but it didn 't have much flavor. I 've had better steak at chains like the Capital Grille. It probably didn 't help that I ate at Jack Fry 's recently and their filet makes this steak taste like a marie calender meal. It 's was a good steak but really I 'd rather eat my own grilled Ribeye at home. Me making a better tasting steak against a trained chef shouldn 't happen. I really would choose my thick cut ribeye from Kroger 's over thier steak frites (Even without price being a factor). I made a prime rib roast from Kingsley for Christmas. I used a recipe from Pioneer woman. Never made it before. So great! Butchertown steak, nope. Moving on the Fries were really dry and awful. I 'd rather eat McDonald 's or Homerun burger fries. Why use Fries with this meal? Brought the dish down a notch. The broccolini was decent but didn 't blow me away. I mean come on! I hate lima beans and Pat 's Steak House has lima beans that blow me away. I 'd eat a lima bean sandwich from there. I 'd spread those beans on my toast. My wife really loved her burger. I had a bite. It was good. I asked if it was better than the burgers at Baxter Station on Payne before they closed. She loved their burgers for some reason. The answer was no. Mussel and Burger Bar? No. Jack Fry 's? Hard to tell Next the coffee was great at first but getting down to the bottom of the press there was an alcohol like aftertaste. When it came time for dessert I opted to just go home and make my own trader Joes creme brulee. Sad.
