Open Caribbean Kitchen - Louisville

I visited Open Caribbean Kitchen last year while in Kentucky, and I rated the food a perfect 10/10—great prices, amazing taste, and generous portions! During my recent trip to Louisville, I tried to reorder the Jerk Chicken Spaghetti, but it was sold out. Ms. Jackie arranged for the chef to prepare a sample plate for me, and it was incredible! This is why I returned all the way from Dallas! The next time I’m in Louisville, I will definitely make a stop here again. I really wish there was a place like this in Dallas, TX!

The lady was nice and answered all they questions my round and I had. The food portion was great. Definitely will be back to try other items on the menu.

I have been wanting to try this place for over a year but I don 't live in close proximity. Made plans to be in the area to visit another establishelment and remembered this place was going to be nearby. I am so glad I finally made it in. The menu online looks yummy. I was in the mood for Oxtails but when I saw the Jerk Chicken Spaghetti online it was speaking to me. I tried it and was not disappointed! I gave it FIVE well deserved stars. I 'll admit, it is a TAD bit spicy for ME, but that is just my opinion. Keep in mind this is coming from a person that doesn 't generally eat spicy food anyway. So, if you like spicy this is right up your alley. However, I would definitely order again. Since this visit, I 've already made my way back again and had the Rasta Pasta. Both dishes are heavenly and come drizzled with a house-made OHH YEEAHH sauce!! You 've got to get you some of that!They offer dine-in, carry out, and use several delivery platforms in case you don 't want to leave the house.Customer service was great. The woman that took my order was engaging and took time to explain any questions I had about the menu. I highly recommend this place. ??

Jackie was incredibly kind and patient as I asked her numerous questions about the menu. There are so many options to choose from, and her recommendations really helped me narrow it down, as I wanted to try everything. I ended up ordering the island chicken—one with sauce and one without. Oh my goodness, it was amazing! No exaggeration! The sauce is definitely on the spicy side, so if you're not a fan of heat, I recommend getting it on the side. The steak and mac and cheese were fantastic, and the cabbage, rice and beans, and white rice were all delicious! The shrimp and grits were out of this world! I can't wait to return and try the jerk spaghetti and rasta pasta.

As for kid-friendliness, the staff was great! They didn’t hesitate to let my son try the mac and cheese, and he absolutely loved it. They even packaged it separately in a bag just for him to carry!
