The food isn't on caliber with other options in the area. The service isn't friendly and/or responsive. On a positive note if you are staying in the hotel it is a convenient acceptable option. Walk or Grab a cab and get out.
Even though this restaurant is in a hotel, I'm surprised more locals don't go there. Excellent food and service!
My wife and I went to Blu to celebrate my birthday. The hostess was very accommodating and we were seated in a matter of minutes. John, our waiter was not only efficient but entertaining as well. The buffet spread was excellent though it could have been enhanced with a couple more veggie options; there was only a brussel sprout and a potato offering. The chicken breast in a pesto sauce was exceptional, and as we all know chicken breast on a buffet table can be dry and unpleasant. The band played happy birthday, I was brought a small confection with a lit candle and my wife and I were emotionally moved. I would most certainly recommend Blu and ask for John.
The ample sized portioned lasagna I ordered was very tasty and enjoyable, and the cheese was seared perfectly on top. Maybe a bit more ricotta cheese in the layers would have been ideal for me. The Kentucky bibb lettuce salad was fresh and tasty. As for my girlfriend, she found the pork chop and the sauce to be bland. She says the mashed potatoes were also bland and butter-less. She would have preferred either the pork chop or the sauce to have been seasoned/ tasteful in any fashion. Adding salt didn't make it better for her. The Makers Mark cocktail with lime was good. Overall we had a good dinner and enjoyed the atmosphere and decor. Thank you Todd
